“The frustrating thing about my marriage is that, I know he is cheating on me. I just cant prove it”
“Ijeoma ever since I have known you, our friendship going on 26 years now. You have been saying Eze is cheating on you, if he was, you would have caught him by now or even have something to bring to the table as proof, I beg this babe, free your mind” Anwuli tells Ijeoma.
“Anwuli, he probably knows that the vase in the living room has a hidden camera in it, maybe I should change it”
“Come this babe, u know get work? Ahn ahn, that camera still dey there? Chai, you still have that tracker in his car abi?”
“Ehn now, that one is for his own safety na”
“Okay I don here, shior”
“My problem is that he doesnt give me time on sundays again when I went to watch the 70 hours of cctv footage from the house, his car and his office desk. He always saying we should go for one yeye family outing”
“Anyways hunny, I garago. I have an appointment” Anwuli grabs her bag and gives ijeoma a peck on the cheek.
“Okay my regards to oga and my princess o, come have you guys picked a date for the wedding”
“ijeoma we go yarn that one later, make I leave you to pack for your trip. U sef you go late”
After Ijeomas son drops her at the airport to catch a flight for her “business trip” Ijeoma take a cab to an apartment she rented right opposite her family home. She strategically rented one with a window facing their front gate. Ijeoma had purchased Binoculars for the very purpose of spying on her husband. She was absolutely certain he was cheating on her and just needed to prove it.
She notices her Husbands car pull up at the gate almost immediately, there is a woman in the passengers side, but she doesnt have a clear view due to the tinted windows. The car goes in, Ijeoma gives it 5 minutes that felt like an eternity. Then races her 57 year old self to her house across the street, like a secondary school girl. She stops at the sitting room to sit and catch her breath. She notices the scent of her Luxurious body scrub had engulfed the room. “This bastard even had her use our sex scrub”
She makes her way to kitchen grabs the morter and makes her way upstairs where she hears full blown sex sounds.
” Ah, I am.not crazy , i knew it…today is the day, one day for the owner, my day has come” she says to herself as she marches up those stairs.
She opens up her bedroom door but there is no one there. She can still hear the sounds. She starts making her way back downstairs when she notices sounds was coming from upstairs. Emekas room! “How would he Eze do such a thing in our sons old room” She opens the door holding the morter up in the air and Emeka and his wife scream!. Bimpe falls off him on to the side of his bed and covers her face with the duvet in shame
Ijeoma walks to the side of the bed, sits down dropping the morter, whilst holding her chest in relief.
“Thank you Jesus, thank you. But Emeka, why now, how would u leave your house and come and be doing lovey in my own house with your wife, this children sha, so all the rooms for your house don finish abi?”
“Mama,I…I ..th..tho…thought you were on a business trip” Emeka looks like he has seen a ghost.
“I didnt go again, Bimpe you can come out from under the duvet now o, no be your husband? Why are you shying” Ijeoma playfully smack Bimpe who still has her face covered with the duvet. Emeka is breathing heavily and looks seriously uncomfortable

Ijeoma continues ” calm down na Emeka, stop shaking, na your wife, its your right” Ijeoma says laughing out loud. Smacking him on the shoulder playfully. “Nothing do you people jare, this is what strengthens marriage, excitement, spontaneous sexy time”No need to be shy jor, we will laugh about this again in a few years”
Emeka still looks uncomfortable, Ijeoma knows her son and senses something is not right. She pulls the duvet open. To her horror the lady under the duvet is not Bimpe. It was her married friend Anwuli, her friend of over 25 years.
Anwuli and Ijeoma have been friends for 25 years. They were maid of honor’s at each others weddings.
” Kedu ihe bu ihe a Anwuli, Anwuli what is this”
Anwuli jumps out of the bed and tries to grab her clothes from the floor.
Ijeoma rushes to the clothes before Anwuli can get there.
“Anwuli, I said what is this” Ijeoma grabs Anwuli by the throat. Emeka jumps in and seperates the women.
She turns to her son
“Emeka you are a married man with a 2 year old baby, what is this”
She grabs the Morter and yells “someone better say something, if i have to ask again, someone will die in this room”
“When did it start” Ijeoma yells facing Emeka
“I cant remember” Emeka responds.
Ijeamo slaps him twice
“When did it start”.

“I was 10”
Ijeoma grabs Emekas phone on the side and is going through it. Anwuli is crying and begging
“Ijeoma I am sorry, its the devil please forgive me. I have a problem”
” Mama what are you doing”
“I am recording this and I have taken pictures of both of you, so Anwuli, if you dont want me to send this message to your husband and This Day Newspaper, start talking, When did it start”
Anwuli gets down on her knees
” Ijeoma please”
Ijeoma hits Anwuli with the morter on her stomach.
Anwuli falls to the ground, Emeka attempts to help her but Ijeoma blocks him
“I said when did you start raping my son”
“6….he was six…six years old. I love him, I still love him, I did not rape him, it was mutual, he wanted it too”
” yes mama, I did, it wanted it to, mama she did not rape me, she was nice to me, she didnt force me. I love her too”
“Emeka, you were 6 no you did not, she raped you, she damaged you, my poor baby”
Ijeoma paused to think of the many times Emeka had gone to Anwulis house as a child for sleepovers while she spyed on her husband. She thought of the times Anwuli would encourage her to tail Ezes car in the evenings so that she can babysit Emeka.
Her mind went to the day she dropped Emeka off at Anwulis house at the age of 15 because she wanted to travel alongside her husband on a business trip she did not believe he was going for. She remembered telling Anwuli that she wants to drop him off with her because she didnt want him alone at home, or having girls over. She had been dropping her son off at the Lions den.
She had spent her life focusing more on what her husband was doing rather than protecting her child. Her only child. Ijeoma felt she had failed her son.
Her mind raced to the day her 7 yearl old son awkwardly said he did not want to visit aunty Anwuli and she yelled at him saying “my friend get in the car!,” He cried all the way there and wrapped himself around her leg when it was time to drop him off. He cried and begged, she put it down to him being a typical child.
“I am finished” Ijeoma yells, drops the morter and Emekas phone and runs out of the room in tears.
“Ijeoma have mercy on me, my daughter is getting marrid next month, please dont ruin my family please…please dont tell them”
Ijeoma goes straight to her husbands office. After his initial shock of why sh was not on her business trip in the first place. She tells him what had just happened. He leaps up and goes straight to the commissioner of police and they hd Anwuli arrested. She was released 2 days later as Emeka went to the police station and told them his mothers allegations were false and that their affair started a week ago.
Emeka and Anwuli subsequently divorced their spouses and abandoned their kids. They eloped together to an unknown destination and have not been seen or heard from ever since.- See more at: http://sarayah.co.uk/thesnooping-woman/#sthash.XoKVTeOj.dpuf
